Welcome to Nhlanhla Care, a dedicated section highlighting the inspiring journey and impactful initiatives of Nhlanhla Nciza, lead singer of Mafikizolo. Nhlanhla is passionately raising awareness about noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) and sharing her personal story of overcoming this challenge.
Nhlanhla Mafu, a celebrated South African artist, has been exposed to high levels of noise throughout her 27-year career. In 2022, she was diagnosed with noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL), a condition she suspected between 2012 and 2013 but was too afraid to address publicly. Now, Nhlanhla bravely shares her experience and solutions with mining professionals and other high-noise industries, advocating for improved workplace safety to prevent hearing loss. Read more
In collaboration with the Mogale City Local Municipality and Absa, Nhlanhla Nciza is also making a significant impact by donating school shoes to over 2,000 learners in rural and township schools. This initiative aims to restore dignity and support the education of young learners by providing them with high-quality school shoes and socks. Nhlanhla, a proud product of Mogale City, actively participates in this project, reflecting her commitment to community development. Read more
